D-BLOCK Basketball Academy Team Visit to Onewin Basketball Foundation

On 25th August 2026, the management team of DBLOCK Basketball Academy visited the Onewin Basketball Foundation Summer Camp at Burnu Road, Unguwar Waziri, Kaduna.

The visit was aimed at strengthening ties between both organizations and reaffirming DBLOCK Academy’s commitment to supporting grassroots basketball initiatives. During the engagement, the management team interacted with young athletes, coaches, and volunteers, offering mentorship and encouragement to inspire excellence both on and off the court.

Their presence added immense value to the camp, motivating participants and reinforcing the shared vision of empowering youth through sports, fostering community development, and creating pathways for future basketball talents in Kaduna and beyond.

Advisory Board Presentation Ceremony at D-Block Basketball Academy

Kaduna witnessed a proud moment on the basketball court as Mr. Sani Turi (popularly known as Goga) was officially presented with a letter of appointment as one of the advisory board members of D-Block Basketball Academy. The presentation was carried out by Faruk Abba, General Manager of the Academy, during a special gathering that brought together players, supporters, and community members.

The occasion highlighted the Academy’s commitment to strengthening its leadership and fostering growth in grassroots basketball development. Mr. Turi’s inclusion on the advisory board is seen as a strategic step toward expanding the Academy’s vision of nurturing young talent and promoting sportsmanship in Kaduna and beyond.

Faruk Abba, while handing over the letter, commended Mr. Turi’s dedication to youth empowerment and expressed confidence that his guidance will play a vital role in shaping the Academy’s future. The event concluded with applause and optimism for the Academy’s continued impact on the local sports scene.

D-Block added another gold medal to the trophy cabinet with victory at the Croc City Basketball Tournament, continuing an outstanding run that also brought gold at the Kano 3x3 Tournament in 2024.

D-Block retained the Kaduna City Basketball League crown, going back-to-back as champions in 2024 and 2025. The trophy celebration at our home court capped a dominant season for the academy.

D-Block defeated Bauchi Net in the final to claim gold at the 5th Edition Be-Happy Basketball Tournament in Bauchi — our first national title of 2026 and proof of a winning culture that travels.
